Inquiring minds want to know

So I made it back.  The question is do I want to be back?  I don't think so..

A weekend of Blues, Barbecue and Beer.  Holy crap the Barbecue sauce.. Oops I just dribbled down myself with the memory of it. *sigh*

For those of ya that have never been to Memphis, here's my take on it.

Imagine a place where there's music everywhere.  The only place there isn't music playing is walking along the Mississippi, chillin'.  Watchin' the River Boats.  Ambling.  Yep ambling.  Any one that knows me would more surprised that I ambled along the river for an hour or two.  Not because I don't like walkin' but because I usually walk twice as fast as anyone else.  Just to prove that I can. :)

A place where you can buy a beer at 9 in the morning at a curb side café and sip outside all day and night watching the people go by.  Hungry?  No problem.  Like the music there is always the smell of grilling.  Not the back yard smell of barbequing, but the full blown the whole town smell of cooking sauce.. *sigh*

It was wonderful.  If it wasn't for the 40 odd bites on my feet and legs that appeared yesterday it would have been nigh on perfect.

What?  Oh Huntsville.  She was cool, we had a great time, people watching and doin' activities and stuff.  Unfortunately no romantic interludes, it just wouldn't have felt right, we were too comfortable together if ya know what I mean.  It was like we'd known each other for years and we'd already been there and done that.  It was ok but there was no need to do it again.  Know what I mean?  Cool though :)

Oh I didn't tell ya did I..

When I got in I had jeans and a shirt on, not knowing what I was getting into.  So when I met up with Huntsville I changed in the disabled toilet - I think the only disabled person to have used it had too many holes the place was reeking' of pee - I remember to pull my wallet so it's not packed away.  Stumble around and finally get changed into shorts and a t-shirt, feel like I've been in there for an hour so hurriedly repack the stuff I wore down.  Rushed back out and off to find the car.  Huntsville starts the car, I offer to pay for the parking and Oh crap!  Where's my wallet?!  Where's my book?!  I'd only gone and left them sitting on the toilet paper in the nasty lavvy!

After a heat stopping run, they were still where I'd left em.  After that everything went nice and relaxing.  *sigh*

I also learned a valuable lesson that I hope I can remember.  Enjoy the journey not just the destination.  Oh yeah and overheard this one "Smooth is slow, Slow is fast"  rather liked that :)
