Oh dear god. It doesn't pay to be popular.
Oh dear god! What have I done? We sort of went out on the town last night. The locals were worried that they were going to be assimilated – which of course they are, but the “powers that be” have decided that we shouldn’t tell them that yet.
So I try and entertain em. Well let’s just say that I get a tad carried away…
Next thing I know is that I’m in a micro brewery. Drinking the sampler and telling some of my most embarrassing stories. Like the time I got arrested for “Public Intoxication” by a 20 year old copper who “had” to take me in – even though we ended up driving right past my house – because I could have stumbled into traffic. Anyway, there literally pissing there pants with laughter. I’m not joking, the three of em where dieing.
God I hate micro brews, the people that drink in em are so bloody pretentious. Anyway lots of fun and games.
Ended up playing a couple of games of pool, then back to my hotel that just happens to have a proper bar attached. The bar even has it’s own restrooms. Not that stupid you have to use the ones in the hotel. Kept on drinking, kept em laughing. Then they all had go and leave.
When I finally went to bed I couldn’t sleep. Stayed up past midnight finally forced myself to turn the telly off and lay there all bloody night with my mind buzzing for no apparent reason. I must have had 10 beers, but I felt like I’d had nothing to drink but bloody Red Bull.
Now of course I’m cutting over the site tonight at midnight. It’s 3:30 local and I’m knackered*
I won’t be able go to bed till 1 maybe 2 in the morning, so who the hell knows what shape I’m going to be in tomorrow! *sigh* Ahh well. Hopefully I’ll get a couple of hours under a desk somewhere. Or nip back to the hotel for a bit. Of course I was far too entertaining last night and they all want me to go out again tonight… Oh crap…
* Knackered: Adj. 1. Tired, worn out, exhausted. E.g."I missed my bus, I've just walked home, I'm knackered, so I'm going to bed. OK?"2. Broken. E.g."Can we come around to watch TV at yours tonight, our is knackered."3. Thwarted, prevented from succeeding at a task. E.g."We were knackered after our goalkeeper left, mid season. The replacement let in an average of 6 goals each match and we got relegated to a lower division."
